Two friends, one Vitamix, a lot of oats.
Oat Avenue started in a London kitchen in 2020 and grew into the UK’s first granola butter. This is how it happened.
We got slightly obsessed.
Lockdown in 2020 got us experimenting in the kitchen. For months we made oat everything: oat milk, oat flour, oat cookies, oat-crust pizzas.
Then one day we wondered if you could make an oat butter. We roasted some granola, blended it in our Vitamix, and that’s how granola butter was born.
The first attempts weren’t great, but they were good enough to give us hope. The market was missing something, a spread that everyone could eat, so we spent months fine-tuning the recipe until it was right.
The lockdown kitchen
Months of oat experiments in a London flat. Oat milk, oat flour, oat cookies, oat-crust pizza. The question was always what else oats could do.
The Vitamix moment
Roasted granola went into the blender and came out as something new: spreadable granola. Rough at first, but promising enough to keep going.
Free from the top 14
We rebuilt the recipe so it contains none of the 14 major UK allergens, so it’s safe for nut allergies, coeliacs and vegans. Then we got it tasting like a treat.
Five flavours, one award
Original became Chocolate, Raspberry, Chai Spiced and Matcha. The judges at Great Taste gave us their stars.
Onto the shelves
Selfridges, Whole Foods Market, Ocado, Amazon and Delli. Granola butter left our kitchen and reached people we’ll never meet.
600+ Holland & Barrett stores
Original and Matcha are now on shelves nationwide. Still made in small batches, by a small team, in London.
What we care about.
Choice
Multiple flavours for every mood and every diet. Nobody at the table should miss out.
Quality
Real ingredients like organic coconut sugar, raw cacao and freeze-dried fruit. Nothing artificial for colour.
Small batches
A small team with a big heart. Every batch is made with love right here in the UK.
Oat Avenue exists to explore the joys of oats.
